„Když začátkem letošního roku přišla nabídka vystoupit na festivalu Space X u příležitosti 30. výročí vydání nahrávky Richter Band Smetana, ihned bylo jasné, že je to příležitost, jak se toho chopit se současným (elektrickým) pojetím. Richter&syn vybrali z původního alba sedm skladeb, které byly převedeny do elektronické podoby, a když se připojil hráč na dechové nástroje Bharata Rajnošek, dostal tento počin další rozměr. A aby fanoušci fidlerofonu nepřišli zkrátka, přidal se i Štěpán Pečírka na akustický fidlerofon. Tak vznikl tento exkluzívní projekt.“

Skupina Richter Band po založení v roce 1985 zažila svůj boom zejména počátkem 90. let, kdy vydala po sobě tři alba: Smetana (1990), Richter Band (1991) a PF 92 (1992). Skupina hojně koncertovala u nás i v zahraničí, vystoupila na řadě mezinárodních festivalů, účinkovala v České televizi a tvořila předkapelu zahraničních umělců, jako jsou Vidna Obmana nebo Nils Petter Molvaer. V druhé polovině 90. let Pavel Richter opouští tradiční fidlerofon a v novém složení nahraje se saxofonistou Bharatou Rajnoškem a hráčem na sampler Michalem Kořánem album „... to, co lidi sytí“ (1998). Následují již jen s Bharatou Rajnoškem alba Dead Line (2004) a Dr. Dernets Songs (2009).

„When we were asked to perform at the Space X festival on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the release of Richter Band’s album Smetana, we took it as an opportunity to look at the original material with contemporary approach. Richter & son selected seven songs from Smetana album. The recorded parts of band’s emblematic DIY instrument made out of kitchen pots-Fidlerophone were resampled and postproduced. Other parts of the songs were freely reconstructed. When wind instrumentalist Bharata Rajnošek joined he added even more layers. Later Štěpán Pečírka joined with the acoustic fidlerophone. This is how this exclusive project was created. ”

After its founding in 1985, the Richter Band experienced its boom in the early 1990s, when they released three albums in the row: Smetana (1990), Richter Band (1991) and PF 92 (1992). The group has performed a lot at home and abroad, at a number of international festivals, on Czech Television and was a supporting band for foreign artists such as Vidna Obmana and Nils Petter Molvaer performing in Czech Republic. In the second half of the 1990s, Pavel Richter left the traditional fidlerophone and in a new composition he recorded the album „... what feeds people“ with the saxophonist Bharata Rajnošek and eletronic musician Michal Kořán (1998). The follow album Dead Line (2004) was recorded only with Bharata Rajnošek.
