Jaroslav Kořán's debut album Zahrada was released in 1992, and Pavel Klusák wrote in his review of its second release that it was ahead of its time. He was referring not only to the album's strange mood, but also to the abundant use of field recordings, which only came into vogue much later. The same principle is repeated on its free sequel called Lazy Summer, where Kořán selected tracks from 1994-1997.

"I recorded this music at home in Prague with my musician friends on a four-track Fostex cassette recorder and a Tesla tape recorder. Creating multi-layered playbacks was very laborious and complicated back then. The recordings feature some people I met only by chance and who lived in Prague only briefly. They never met each other at my place."
JK

In this way, the work Lazy Summer is loosely related to the compilation album Zahrada (Garden). It is pieced together from chance encounters, studio jams and rehearsal recordings. And although it features musicians from different parts of our planet (including musician Michael Delia from New York and Danish singer Alice Rose), the album feels compact. Koran’s acoustic instruments maintain the overall sound spectrum, which is sensitively modulated at times by computer and samplers. Often he loops a part of another composition or a working recording and adds new musical parts. The result is compositions that remain fragile and offer the listener enough space for his imagination and thinking. The melodies on the album are mainly taken care of by the sensitive violin of Vladan Maliniak, the guitar of the Greek Alekos Kufudakis, who lives in our country, and the mbira of Michael Delia. The tranquil music is rarely disturbed by faster repetitions and overall carries a meditative atmosphere.
