Dystopie – opak utopie, myšlenka fiktivní společnosti, která se vyvinula špatným směrem, má zásadní nedostatky (totalitní forma vlády, omezování osobní svobody) vzniklé přehnáním jednoho nebo více ideologických principů. Občané antiutopického světa jsou obvykle neskrývaně utlačováni politickým systémem. S různými typy utopických a antiutopických společností se lze setkat v science fiction a dalších literárních dílech i dalších žánrech umění.

Pražský hudebník, skrývající se pod pseudonymem Night Note, vytvořil další koncepční album. Tentokrát se jeho tématem staly dystopické filmy. Jak sám vysvětluje, má rád severskou kulturu – filmy, knihy a severskou hudební scénu. Temnější hudba na něho působí pozitivně. Né náhodou jsou jeho oblíbenci Haffler trio, Lustmord či například Einsturzende Neubauten. A dodává, že při práci na této nahrávce zrovna četl Sorokinův Cukrový Kreml a hned předtím Doktora Garina. Najít spojující téma je pro něho prioritní. „Tím si utvořím v hlavě vizuálně svůj zhudebněný obrázek příběhu nebo u filmu si vzpomenu na nějakou klíčovou scénu a představuji si, jak by mohly podle mne znít,“ vysvětluje vznik alba Dystopia.

Milan Maštálka nahrává své skladby zásadně během nocí, kdy je podle něj nejvhodnější konstelace na rozvíjení hudebních nápadů. Neděje se tak ovšem automaticky. „Vždy na to musí být ten správný okamžik, který se nedá předem plánovat. Důležité je být na něj připravený a soustředit se na podstatné nápady a myšlenky. Ostatní pak již vzniká intuicí,“ dodává hudebník.

Night Note se pravidelně objevuje na kompilaci Naviar Haiku Festival londýnských Naviar Records a jeho skladba Pass over the Tannhäuser Gate byla zařazena Nickem Powerem na Yet Another Ambient Watts Mix mezi hudebníky, jakými jsou Loscil, Chemical Brothers či populární a uznávaní skladatelé filmové hudby Vangelis a Hans Zimmer. Zaujal i britského režiséra Kristiana Younga, který si vybral jeho skladbu Busy Week pro svůj film Six Times Open. Na své bandcampové stránce má desítky nahrávek.

Dystopia - the opposite of utopia, the idea of a fictitious society that is developing in the wrong direction, has fundamental flaws (totalitarian form of government, restriction of personal freedom) caused by excessive promotion of one or more ideological principles. The citizens of an anti-utopian world are usually oppressed by the political system in an undisguised way. Various types of utopian and anti-utopian societies can be encountered in science fiction and other literary works as well as in other artistic genres.

The Prague musician, hiding under the pseudonym Night Note, has created another concept album. This time his theme is dystopian films. As he explains himself, he likes Nordic culture - films, books and the Nordic music scene. Darker music has a positive effect on him. It is no coincidence that his favourites are the Haffler Trio, Lustmord and Einsturzende Neubauten, for example. And he adds that while working on this recording he had just read Sorokin's Sugar Kremlin and, immediately before that, Doctor Garin. Finding a connecting theme is a priority for him. "By doing this, I form a visual image of the story in my head, or with a film I think of a key scene and imagine how I think they might sound," he explains the creation of Dystopia.

Milan Maštálka records his compositions mainly during the nights, when he believes the constellation is the most suitable for developing musical ideas. It doesn't happen automatically, though. "There always has to be the right moment for it, which cannot be planned in advance. The important thing is to be ready for it and to focus on the essential ideas and thoughts. The rest comes from intuition," adds the musician.

Night Note appears regularly on the Naviar Haiku Festival compilation by London's Naviar Records and his track Pass over the Tannhäuser Gate was included by Nick Power on the Yet Another Ambient Watts Mix among musicians such as Loscil, Chemical Brothers and popular and acclaimed film music composers Vangelis and Hans Zimmer. He also caught the attention of British director Kristian Young, who chose his track Busy Week for his film Six Times Open. He has dozens of recordings on his bandcamp page.
