Miroslav Posejpal – kytara, looper, efekty

Výrazná postava české alternativní hudební scény, Miroslav Posejpal, se dlouhodobě věnuje improvizované hudbě. Působil v duu s Jiřím Durmanem, byl členem ParaNeuro, sdružení IQ+1 či například hudebně performační skupiny Tonton Macoutes. Věnoval se též elektro­akustické tvorbě, jejímž ústředním tématem bylo rozšiřování zvukových a výrazových možností tradičních nástrojů prostřednictvím elektronických efektů a jejich kombinací.

V letech 2014–2016 začal hledat novou podobu hudební realizace. Vznikl tak materiál Strange Songs, zveřejněný na jeho sound­cloudovém profilu. Tato práce byla pokračováním dřívější sólové elektroakustické tvorby. V počáteční fázi používal k efektování kytar a baskytar aparát vytvořený v průběhu předchozích asi deseti let na amplifikaci a úpravu zvuku violoncella především v triu ParaNeuro. Po roce 2018 postupně proměňoval kombinaci efektů a vznikly nahrávky, které Blue Lizard vydalo v roce 2021 na albu Stellar Voices, na než letošní novinka volně navazuje.

„Hudba na novém albu Songs Of The Ocean byla většinou nahrána po definitivním dokončení modernizace mého efektového aparátu v roce 2022. Všechny uvedené skladby – ve skutečnosti improvizace vzniklé spontánně v interakci s looperem – jsou zahrány a nahrány v reálném čase. Ve většině případů je part looperu nahrán buď bezprostředně před vlastní nahrávkou jako podklad a vymezení základní atmosféry, nebo i v průběhu nahrávání jako hlas stínového spoluhráče. Následná editace je minimální, většinou jen úprava hlasitosti a vyvážení úrovně a prostorového umístění obou tracků.“ — Miroslav Posejpal

Miroslav Posejpal – guitar, looper, effects

Miroslav Posejpal, a prominent figure of the Czech alternative music scene, has long been involved in improvised music. He has worked in a duo with Jiří Durman, was a member of ParaNeuro, IQ+1 association and the musical performance group Tonton Macoutes. He has also been involved in electroacoustic work, the central theme of which has been the expansion of the sound and expressive possibilities of traditional instruments through electronic effects and their combinations.

In 2014–2016, he began to search for a new form of musical realization. This resulted in the material Strange Songs, posted on his soundcloud profile. This work was a continuation of his earlier solo electroacoustic work. In the initial phase, he used an apparatus created over the previous ten years or so to amplify and modify the sound of the cello, mainly in the trio ParaNeuro, to effect the guitars and bass. After 2018, he gradually transformed the combination of effects, resulting in the recordings that Blue Lizard released in 2021 on the album Stellar Voices, which this year's release loosely follows.

"The music on the new album Songs Of The Ocean was mostly recorded after the final completion of the upgrade of my effects apparatus in 2022. All the tracks featured - in fact improvisations created spontaneously in interaction with the looper - are played and recorded in real time. In most cases, the looper part is recorded either immediately before the actual recording as background and defining the basic atmosphere, or even during the recording as the voice of a shadow collaborator. Subsequent editing is minimal, mostly just adjusting the volume and balancing the level and spatial placement of the two tracks." - Miroslav Posejpal
