Režisér a publicista Petr Slabý, milovník vína a Jiné hudby, nás předčasně opustil 9. února 2023. Patřil k blízkým spolupracovníkům Unijazzu, rád chodil do klubu Kaštan. I proto zde došlo k nápadu udělat mu benefiční večer. Neměla by to být žádná tryzna, ale veselé vzpomínání na kamaráda a půvabné historky s ním. Zahrály kapely, které měl rád a které s ním byly často nějak úzce spojené – DPvJU, Duo Smädný km**, Michal Kořán & Pavel Richter, Romanovská–Tichý–Hrubý, Kolna & M. Chadima j. h., Ušní střevíc Memorial nebo Malé zuby, aka Plyn. Jako připomínka tohoto skvělého režiséra a publicisty vychází v pátek 2. 2. 2024 na labelu Blue Lizard záznam dvojice Pavel Richter / Michal Kořán z tohoto benefičního večera.

"Více než půlhodinový záznam vystoupení dvojice Pavel Richter a Michal Kořán obsahuje čtyři skladby. Jejich společným jmenovatelem je progresivní ambient. Úvodní „Krajina mého mládí“ je sycena elektronickou špínou a kytarovým brunátněním; slyšíme též úpění, barvy evokující Pink Floyd a občas přecezený hlas Petra Slabého, dokonce jeho smích. Více než devítiminutová „Polární záře“ je kytarově hutná, procvakaná nepravidelným elektronickým rytmizováním; rozlámanost versus vlny. Vespod praskot, šrum plus ambientní hlazení, lahodění. Zazní také zvonivé perlení, krystalická melodičnost a lyrika v následujícím skvostu „Ranní píseň“. Více než jedenáctiminutová „Krajina odlivu“ pak představuje onen prvotní, enovský ambient, v jehož toku se opakovaně vynořuje Slabého zkreslený, až jakoby rozpuštěný hlas. A pak cosi, co připomíná kvákání žab; možná to jsou vzhledem k názvu skladby opravdu žabí hlasy, nebo je to metamorfovaný Slabého hlas, ale to není vlastně podstatné. Nechte se prostě tím zvukově barevným proudem unášet kamsi daleko, až za horizont, do jiného světa…"

PETR SLABÝ [20. 3. 1963–9. 2. 2023]
Director and publicist Petr Slabý, a lover of wine and Other Music, left us prematurely on 9 February 2023. He was one of the close collaborators of Unijazz, he liked to come to the Kaštan club. That's why we came up with the idea of a fundraising evening for him. It should not be a memorial service, but a happy remembrance of a friend and charming stories with him. The bands he liked and which were often closely connected with him played – DPvJU, Duo Smädný km**, Michal Kořán & Pavel Richter, Romanovská-Tichý-Hrubý, Kolna & M. Chadima j. h., Ušní střevíček Memorial or Malé zuby, aka Plyn. In memory of this great director and publicist, a recording of the Pavel Richter / Michal Kořán duo from this benefit evening will be released on Friday 2/2/2024 on the Blue Lizard label.

"The more than half-hour recording of the performance of the duo Pavel Richter and Michal Kořán contains four songs. Their common denominator is progressive ambient. The opening "Krajina mého mládí" (Landscape of My Youth) is saturated with electronic dirt and guitar strumming; we also hear moaning, colours evoking Pink Floyd and sometimes overdone voice of Petr Slabý, even his laughter. The more than nine-minute "Polární záře" (Aurora Borealis) is guitar-heavy, punctuated by irregular electronic rhythms; fuzziness versus waves. Underneath, crackle, murmur plus ambient caress, caress. There are also ringing pearls, crystalline melody and lyricism in the following gem, "Ranní píseň" (Morning Song). The more than eleven-minute "Krajina odlivu" (Landscape of the Tide) then presents that primal, Eno ambient, in the flow of which Slabý's distorted, almost as if dissolved voice repeatedly emerges. And then something that resembles the croaking of frogs; perhaps, given the title of the track, these are really frog voices, or maybe it's Slabý's metamorphosed voice, but it doesn't really matter. Just let yourself be carried away by this sound-coloured stream to somewhere far away, over the horizon, to another world..."
